Week One Update – Paleo Detox

Wow! What a difference a week makes! Here’s the scoop about how I’ve been handling my paleo detox. Remember, I’ve committed to a strict 30 day no grains, legumes, dairy, alcohol or added sweeteners…yikes.

I’ve been traveling a bit, so I was worried this whole house of cards was going to crumble around me. But, I made myself so proud by sticking with this diet, and in doing so I’ve been rewarded.

I feel lighter in my step. Less achy, and much more clear headed. One way to describe my energy and state of mind, is “sharp.” My skin is clearing up, and the whites of my eyes are whiter.

All of this feels so good, and I can’t believe I’ve only been doing this for one week!!

Here’s a story for you.

A couple of days ago I felt the beginnings of a flu coming on– achey muscles and joints, the chills, and I was so tired. This just could not be happening right now! I will be on the road for two full weeks starting tonight. Needless to say, I was freaking out!

So, I stuck with my new eating plan, had some avocado, dashed out to pickup some zicam, and prayed. The next day, a miracle occurred. I felt totally fine.

This blew my mind. How could it be?

I don’t know if it’s because of the diet, or the zicam or the combination of both, but I’m into it!!

Going into week two, I haven’t been eating anything good enough to post for you guys. But, once I have access to a kitchen and both feet planted firmly on the ground again, I’ll make sure to get you all involved in the madness.
